The technical capabilities of the manufacturing team members are indispensable to supporting the quality of products. The Skill Accreditation System is the common measuring tool for improving skill levels and maintaining high standard throughout groups in all KOBELCO Construction Machinery companies. Based on this system, a certain level of
members of each factory go to Japan and receive training, and then return to their factories to share what they learned. Every autumn, outstanding technicians chosen through a preliminary contest in each area, gather in Japan to take part in a Production Skills Competition. We are striving to further raise our skill level through competition and interchange.
A thorough inspection regimen designed to prevent defects embodies the "Made By KOBELCO" ethos.
The checks are conducted under a four-fold regimen consisting of a self-inspection by workers in each production process, an in-process third-person inspection (in each process), a completion inspection, and a pre-shipment inspection. Although the particulars of each in-process check depend on the factory, all inspectors have been certified through the common KOBELCO "Inspector Authorization system", with the exception of
self-inspections. Similar inspection standards have been established at all sites.
